[edit] Reporting Phone Line Faults

You will need the phone number of the line that the fault has occurred on.

If there are a lot of faults being reported, be prepared to be on hold for a while. The phone queue gives no indication of where you are in the queue.

Faults commonly occur during hot weather.

[edit] ADSL

ADSL with Telstra (or any other provider) is still very much a 'hit-or-miss' affair. Unless your home is fortunate to be located south in the development, there is only a small chance of getting an ADSL service. When cabling the suburb, Telstra made use of 'RIM' units and/or 'pair-gain' technology, which does not allow and ADSL service to be run over the phoneline.
