Progress
Progress to date: $200.48 (or 10 mm)
The Mawson Lakes Progress Association has launched its Mawson Lakes Swimming Pool project.
We are asking Mawson Lakes residents to collect bottles and cans to help raise money for a Swimming Pool in Mawson Lakes.
A 50 metre pool is expected to roughly cost $1,000,000, which is a huge amount of bottles and cans. It will be possible to raise this money though, and every contribution will help.
Background
There has recently been a committee formed by Delfin, Salisbury Council and the University of South Australia to investigate building additional community facilities in Mawson Lakes.
The Mawson Lakes Progress Association has identified the need for a publicly accessible swimming pool in Mawson Lakes.
How do I help?
What we want mostly, at this stage, is donations of bottles and cans that we can recycle.
The Association is calling for anyone interested in being involved with this project to get in touch with Maureen Morton (Ph.8359 4567) or Bob Smith (Mb.0414 565 601) or send email to chairwoman@mawsonlakesonline.com.au.'
What can I collect?
Any drink containers with the '5c' depost written on them can be collected for the project. This includes:
- Soft drink cans
- Beer bottles
- Ice Coffee and flavoured milk cartons
- Yacult containers
What should I do with the containers I collect?
An account has been setup with the local bottle recyclers - Pooraka Recycling. Simply drop your bottles and cans off and let them know that they are for the Mawson Lakes Swimming Pool Fund.
